The refurbished aircraft will feature a refreshed Business Premier, a new Economy seat with a slimmer back and Air New Zealand’s luxury leather Premium Economy seat which debuted on the 787-9 Dreamliner in July 2014 will replace the Premium Economy Spaceseat™ and take the number of Premium Economy seats on this aircraft from 44 to 54.

The refurbishment will also include the installation of the Panasonic eX3 inflight entertainment system which customers already enjoy on the Dreamliner fleet.

Customers flying NZ1/NZ2 London – Los Angeles - Auckland?
The Premium Economy Spaceseat™ will remain on NZ1 and NZ2 services until the beginning of September 2017. Please note, there may be occasions where due to maintenance requirements we will need to replace the aircraft operating these services with a reconfigured aircraft.

Customers flying NZ5/NZ6 Los Angeles – Auckland?
The refurbishment on our 777-300ER flying on the Los Angeles – Auckland route will be rolled our progressively from February 2017. Please note, any customers flying in Premium Economy on the NZ1/NZ2 between London and Los Angeles, and then onwards to Auckland on the NZ5/NZ6 may experience a difference in the Premium Economy seat during this time

When booking customers in Premium Economy for travel from February 2017, refitted aircraft will be displayed in the GDS as "77W". Non-reconfigured aircraft (featuring the Premium Economy Spaceseat™ onboard) will be displayed as B773 as normal.
